I'm a recently retired police sergeant who suddenly has time for everything, but I'm busier now than I ever was when I was working.
I served with the US Coast Guard Reserve for about 20 years. I was mobilized on 9-12-2001, and served as a Sea Marshal out of San Diego and San Francisco, before being assigned to a combat boatcrew in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I was finally demobilized in April of 2004.
My marriage of 23 years broke up in 2005, and I recently re-married on Veterans' Day in 2007.
I have two grandchildren so far, as well as two step sons.
Since retiring, I've gotten into genealogy at last, and so far I've been able to identify parts of my family tree going back about four generations.
That's all for now... oh, wait. Why "Cap'n Billy's" Whiz-Bang? That was the name of my first boat. Historically, Cap'n Billy's Whiz-Bang was the title of a racy joke magazine that circulated around the turn of the century, and I know of at least one dive bar that went by that name.
